We are sure that many of you will have watched the Prime Minister’s address to the nation on Sunday evening and read subsequent details either online or in the media.
You will have heard the Prime Minister indicating that the government believes it may be in a position to implement a phased re-opening of schools from 1st June, starting with pupils in nurseries, reception, year one and year six. This is part of the government’s conditional plan which it says will remain under regular review and is yet to be final.
We know that you will understand that the safety of everyone in the school community is paramount. We all want to get more pupils back into school as soon as it is safe to do so. However, we do want to stress that our first priority has to be the health and well-being of all our staff, children and families.
Following the guidelines from the DfE, it is important for us to establish the staff that are able to come into work. Please follow the link below and read the guidance carefully, as it will inform your decision.
This is the section in the document which you will need to read in particular:
Approach: First phase of wider opening of educational and childcare settings (from 1 June 2020 depending on the most up-to-date assessment of the risk posed by the virus)
