Our Mission
Beis Yaakov Primary School provides for its pupils a standard of excellence in both Kodesh and secular studies through an all-encompassing curriculum that is attentive to pupils’ individual needs.
Our pupils learn a rich system of Jewish values, which stresses the practice of mitzvos and the development of ethical character. Through school experiences, our students gain creative-thinking and critical-thinking skills and develop a passion for lifelong learning in order to prepare them for life in modern Britain.
At Beis Yaakov Primary School:
-
we inspire our girls to love Torah, and Tefillah (prayer)
-
we teach our girls to respect and appreciate diversity
-
instil in our girls a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs
-
our girls learn to be contributing, caring and knowledgeable members of our community, our country, and the world
-
stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical
Our Vision
At Beis Yaakov Primary School, Jewish tradition informs our curriculum, calendar, celebrations, and daily schedule. Whilst we are committed to transmitting an in-depth knowledge of sacred Jewish texts and rituals, tradition and customs, and Jewish history, we are also equally dedicated to excellence in our secular education, encompassing the full range of the National Curriculum. Our pupils gain fluency in reading, writing, speaking, mathematics and understanding Hebrew language and literature. Pupils also discover how to have a significant and joyful relationship with G-d, how to pray as a Jew, and to appreciate the beauty of Torah. Through this knowledge and experience, our students build meaningful Jewish lives and develop into adults who contribute to society through a variety of occupations.
Beis Yaakov Primary School weaves Torah Values and British Values into every aspect of the school experience. Staff, pupils, and parents are strongly encouraged to participate in activities that improve the world and which promote justice, peace, compassion, and respect.
Our school operates as a community of learners with pupils, teachers, and families all partaking in the educational process. Our teachers and school staff care deeply about the school, the children with whom they work, and Jewish education. They understand and embrace the school’s mission, adopting and supporting the principles we value as a school community. Because we believe that students are inspired by adults who appreciate both religious and secular learning and who pursue their own emotional, intellectual and spiritual growth, the school encourages and provides ongoing educational opportunities for teachers, parents and all community members.
Beis Yaakov Primary School establishes a safe, supportive environment that fosters the kind of trust and warmth that lets students take risks and rise to challenges. Such an environment allows each student to shine, to strive for personal excellence, and to develop a strong sense of self.
